peN PC

Like I always say, Change is evolution. This is a strangely interesting evolution.
Itz real, Via Snopes.
"P-ISM is a gadget package including five functions: a pen-style cellular phone with a handwriting data input function, virtual keyboard, a very small projector, camera scanner, and personal ID key with cashless pass function. P-ISMs are connected with one another through short-range wireless technology. The whole set is also connected to the Internet through the cellular phone function. This personal gadget in a minimalistic pen style enables the ultimate ubiquitous computing. "

cingular --> at&t (re-re-branding)

We'll miss Mr. Cingular-blobby-orange-man.

Historically, AT&T has been an insanely strong brand. But recently Cingular's image is much more positive than AT&T. So all the cash they are spending on their "Raising the Bar" campaign will be all for not - unless their marketing people create a clever bridge to the new brand. Either way itz going to be the same wireless network.

"SBC , which closed its merger with AT&T on Friday, plans to sell Cingular Wireless under the fabled AT&T name"

Check out this kool video (Via Karthi - the upcoming Yo Man.) from YouTube.
This reminds me of the koolest lady I have met in my life, my grandma (paati). She too used to (no more) refers friends as kootali.

sChOOL Pak - Indian wins

This time itz not me twisting the casing of the blog title. This is a `cool' back-pack personal computer for school kids designed by an Indian.
It has won the Chairman's Award in the Next Generation Windows OS PC Design Competition at CES in Las Vegas.

"Chandra's design, "sChOOL Pak," was selected over 200-odd entries, by Microsoft's Chairman and Chief Software Architect, Bill Gates."

"Microsoft received 195 entries from 33 nations - with many coming from students and independent designers. Among those who inquired about the competition was a 14-year-old Indian girl. "

visTa @ CES

Change is evolution.
Highlight of Gates keynote at CES yesteray is the intro of Vista the next version of Windows. Lotz of features [mostly unadulterated ripoffs from Apple Mac OS X]. But I kind of like this one long due. "The ability to turn a computer off or put it to sleep by pushing one button, as with a TV or consumer electronics device."
