US consulate in Hyderabad?

The US Congress has passed a bill that allows for opening one more consulate in India, in either Hyderabad or Bangalore. Now Bush concealed agenda during his visit to Hyderabad raises speculation of new consulate in Hyderabad.

I feel geographic and demographic features suit Hyderabad better. Also Hyderabad consulate would relieve the waiting time at all other US consulates, whereas a Bangalore one would only help Madras. With AP's NRI influence in US, they can lobby better for their cause.

The same guy who predicted the Gmail for domains last week has found two new lines of code that hint at voicemail and evites.com integration.

"This [voicemail] service will be most useful when Google starts providing full VoIP services, but until then it could be used for missed GTalk calls."

"Based on the code[evite], the first point of integration with Evite will be through GMail by adding an "Invitations" section. This section will probably let you create and manage invitations as easily as sending email. Historically, AT&T has been an insanely strong brand. But recently Cingular's image is much more positive than AT&T. So all the cash they are spending on their "Raising the Bar" campaign will be all for not - unless their marketing people create a clever bridge to the new brand. Either way itz going to be the same wireless network.

It has won the Chairman's Award in the Next Generation Windows OS PC Design Competition at CES in Las Vegas.

The only self-driven moment in life, when I thought I must be there in US was when I was watching a documentry on Six Flags. And I had my 6F moment.

But my gifted moments were when I watched Fight Club, a racy enlightener.

My thoughts fit in someone else words - "FC assembles right up to the last, sneaky subliminal frame, the vast emptiness of modern existence- ridden as it is with shallow values, rampant consumerism, empty of meaning, feeling and life itself- in a slick and ironically consumer oriented fashion."

Meet Tyler Durden (stylish, sophisticated, racy Osho), the charismatic alter ego with sleazy outfits. There is something (maybe straightforward honesty) in his words that speak to anyone who is fed up to some degree with the way our society is. And Ed Norton, in a performance full of so much sarcasm. It doesn't get much better than this.

Watch this movie and watch it again with some of your more intelligent friends.

I have known about Bill Gates quotes on contribution by Indians in Microsoft. Here is a direct quote from his chat with PC on this and about 8 of 14 prefect scorers in their annual review in Microsoft being Indians. I feel proud.

G Base is live. I just visited the site and poked around. It allows you to upload any kind of data, and then tag it using your G account. Users can also create tags (labels) and attributes for those labels – and in time the community will have created a set of commonly used attributes for a set of commonly used tags – democratization of metadata.

I guess that we are about to find out the answer to questions like, “Is the world ready for a centralized repository of content contained in a database owned by G ?”, “What does a fileshare in the sky look like ?” and “What services / editors will Google provide around that repository ?”

Actually their existing infrastructure should allow creating services like G Base relatively easily – it naturally fits their BigTable semi-structured storage DB, they just need to index over that information so it becomes searchable.

Apple has been using them to great effect for years now to sell products that couldn’t really distinguish themselves if you tried a straightforward commercial.

Now Microsoft uses this idea to sell xBox360. Itz an "easy, don’t bother" type of ad. That is how you sell a product with millions of cool features in 30 seconds. Get people interested, let the games sell themselves and the boxes with them.
